I will be working in the Zen Zen Zo office, as Education Co-ordinator, and as a Senior Teacher on the Zen Zen Zo teaching team. I am also training and performing with Manouvre Stilts company, and will be looking for film and theatre performing work in Brisbane, or short-term work in Sydney / Melbourne. |

I'm going to Japan with several 2008 internship members and members of the Zen Zen Zo company, to study with Butoh companies Dairakudakan and Semi-Maru, and (hopefully) to attend the SCOT festival at Toga. Very exciting! Stay posted for photos and more news... |
| 19 - 29 July 2008 | I'll be in Melbourne for the first time this year, for Melbourne Stomp. Stay posted for gatherings! |
21 - 25 July 2008

I am helping to organise the third Melbourne Stomp for Zen Zen Zo. Look out for more news. The course will be at the Dance Factory this year, and will take 24 participants. It will book out quickly, so email me now if interested! |

I am back in Australia, settled in Brisbane for at least the first 6 months of the year, to undertake an internship with Zen Zen Zo. It will culminate in the butoh show, Zeitgeist. Look out for more news on the season. Dav will direct a circus show for schools in Melbourne, Cats for Rockhampton Venues and Events, and then join me in Brisbane (fingers crossed) in April. We'll both be looking for work here and/or around the country. |

I commenced my 'world tour'; largely sightseeing in Europe, but I also studied with the Su-En Butoh Company for a week in Sweden, saw many theatre shows in the UK, and got my Scuba Open Water certification in Thailand! Other highlights of the trip include: climbing amazing mountains above the clouds in Sweden; climbing a rock in the middle of the largest waterfall in Europe; skiing (my first time!) on the Stubai Glacier in Austria; seeing Wicked in London; and visiting our good friends Duuk and Marjo and their two lovely girls in Eindhoven, Holland. For many fantastic photos of our trip, look me up on Facebook. |

I will be heading to New York to take part in the Summer Intensive with Anne Bogart's company, the Saratoga International Theatre Institute (May update: My acceptance has now been confirmed! But have yet to organise Visas, so can't get too excited yet...); my rough plans after completing this course are to head to the UK, possibly to look for part-time work; then do some travelling around Europe and Asia - my biggest aim being to train while over there, in week-long intensives if I can find them, and to see theatre and experience different cultures and ways of living. |
9-13 July 2007

I am once more organising the Melbourne Stomp week-long intensive for Zen Zen Zo, which will run this time from 9-13 July. Simon Wood and Steven Wright will be teaching the dynamic course this year. If you are interested in this fantastic opportunity to study with Zen Zen Zo in Melbourne, email me. |

I will be heading to Montville in Qld, for the week-long Winter Stomp with Zen Zen Zo. Having done their Stomping Ground course several times, and organised their Melbourne Stomp in both 2006 and 2007, I've heard a lot about Winter Stomp and am looking forward to the experience with both trepidation and anticipation. It will be a fantastic lead-in to the course with SITI in New York. |

After 8 months of work, I finally finish my official contract with Round Earth Theatre. It's been a long gig at times, but has always presented new challenges and interesting characters; and a great learning experience. I'll be taking lots of new skills away with me. Most of all, I'll have proved to myself that I am able to perform a long-running show with sustained interest and enthusiasm. There has been tentative talk about further work with the company down the track; but who knows what life will throw at me next (or when the next full-time job will come up)! |
March 2007

After another 2 months of flat-out work, I head to Rockhampton to see West Side Story, stopping in Melbourne for a day to get my driving licence (fingers crossed). Dav and I will then travel to Brisbane, to visit my family for a week. I will be looking out for modelling work while there. From there, back to Strahan on the April 1st. We may work for up to another month there; or depending on how busy it is, we may simply be packing up and heading for the Overlander Track before we head back to Melbourne. |
January 2007
|
January is the busiest month of the year in the tourist-town of Strahan, but as the end of January approaches it is all starting to settle down. My voice is a little rough from the intense workload; but I have several days off at the end of January to travel to Hobart and visit Port Arthur; to see Dav off to Rockhampton where he will be directing a Pro-Am production of West Side Story for the next two months; and to take a weekend trip to Melbourne, for a photo shoot with Tony Rogers and several auditions. Wish me luck. |

After 2 months working flat out for Round Earth in Strahan, and having managed to get the tours, the Morrison mill talk, and both show roles down, I earn my first break, and head back to Melbourne for two weeks, to complete the Society of Australian Fight Directors' Basic Level Stage Combat course. I'm then heading back to Strahan for a Tasmanian working Christmas, taking my partner Dav with me this time, and several more months of work here for the both of us in the New Year. Check out the Sarah Island Guided Tour myspace site here. |
October 2006
|
I head to Tasmania for a 6 month gig with Round Earth Theatre, running tours on Sarah Island during the day, and performing in The Ship That Never Was in the evening, for tourists to the little west-coast town of Strahan. I think I'm going to miss Melbourne, but it will be a fantastic opportunity to run a show for a long period of time; and to save for the big over-seas trip next year. And after being flown down by the company in June, I can see why they call Tasmania beautiful - if you haven't been to the west coast, you haven't seen the real Tasmania. Wish me luck - I won't be home for Christmas this year! |

Picasso's Women goes on at The Butterfly Club (204 Bank St, Sth Melbourne) between 6th and 17th September, showing Wednesday to Sundays at 7pm. The show, written by Irish playwright Brian McAvera, gives it's audience an intimate insight into the world of the legendary artist, through the eyes of his famous - and little heard-from - mistresses. Originally eight monologues, we will be performing three, over 2 consecutive evenings. I play Dora Maar, who was Picasso's lover over the war years of 1935 - 1945, and upon whom the current NGV exhibit focuses. I will perform with Annabel Pemberton, who plays Fernande Olivier, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Jacqueline Roque, played by Miki Oikawa, shows on Thursdays and Saturdays. Tickets are $25 / $20; bookings through The Butterfly Club. It is stirring up quite a bit of interest, and will be my last show in Melbourne for some time... |
August 2006
|
I fly to Brisbane for a week (8 - 15th August) to spend time with family, and will also shoot with Dario Western. I'll then be in Perth between 22-29 August, to shoot with JMD Studios in Yallingup, and to spend some time with my friend Tanya who is in the process of setting up a casting house. It will be my first trip to the Western state; I've heard it's a different world over there and am looking forward to it! |
